Maintenance starts with the cylinder you actually have
Hot water cylinders differ in their design and maintenance requirements. The right approach is based on the particular appliance and its instructions, not a generic checklist copied from another system.
Pureflo offers cylinder servicing alongside cylinder installation and heating work. If you are unsure what type is in your home, a photograph of the label and a wider view of the cupboard can help us prepare for the conversation.
Routine servicing or a problem that needs investigation?
When booking, let us know whether you are arranging planned maintenance or trying to resolve a fault. Water that is no longer hot enough, a visible leak, unexpected noise or a change in performance should be described at the outset.
A service appointment should not be taken as a promise that an unrelated repair, replacement part or extensive investigation is included. Making the problem clear beforehand helps establish the right scope and avoids confusion about what has been booked.
If you see water discharging from a safety arrangement, do not block it or alter valves to stop it. Seek appropriate professional advice. For immediate danger, stop using the affected equipment and contact the relevant emergency service.
Information that helps us prepare
Please include the cylinder make and model, any service history and whether it is heated by a boiler, electricity or another system. Let us know if hot water has stopped completely and whether the problem affects the whole home or only one outlet.
Photographs should be taken without removing covers or reaching into inaccessible areas. Mention any restrictions around the cupboard, and keep the route to the equipment accessible for an agreed appointment.
Follow the manufacturer’s requirements
The maintenance interval and relevant checks depend on the cylinder. Keep the manufacturer’s instructions, installation records and any warranty documentation available. Where work involves an unvented system, ask about the appropriate competence for that work before booking.
The appointment and its scope should be agreed against your actual system, including what will happen if a fault is found and how any additional work will be quoted.
Cylinder service guide price
Pureflo’s published service list gives a £100 cylinder-service guide price, excluding VAT. Confirm the total and what the service covers for your make and model before booking. The price is subject to consultation; fault diagnosis, repairs, replacement parts or additional work may need a separate quotation.
Keeping the scope clear matters. A routine service and a visit to investigate a loss of hot water are not necessarily the same appointment. Mention any existing symptoms when you enquire so the appropriate work can be discussed.
When replacement may need discussing
A servicing enquiry may reveal that a repair or replacement assessment is more appropriate. That does not mean a new cylinder is automatically required. The condition of the equipment, the fault and available options should inform the decision.
For planned servicing in Guildford, Woking or our wider coverage area, send an enquiry with your postcode and cylinder details. If hot water has failed and you need to check current availability, call Ryan directly.
